Guinea Financial Review’s mission is to provide accurate, verified economic and financial news that helps people make decisions, focused on Guinea and open to West Africa and the rest of the continent.
Accuracy and verification
- Every piece of information is verified before publication; a figure always comes with its source, date and unit.
- Articles follow an approval workflow: writing, fact-checking, copy-editing and approval before publication.
- Demonstration data or an estimate is never presented as fact.
Independence
- The newsroom is independent of advertising sales and commercial departments: an advertiser can neither commission, review nor change an article.
- Content paid for by a partner is always clearly labelled as “sponsored content” and is never written by the newsroom.
- Journalists declare any conflict of interest and refrain from covering the topics concerned.
Sources
The newsroom protects its confidential sources; they are never published. The public documents and data used are cited.
Corrections and right of reply
Any error is corrected as soon as it is known. A substantial correction is published as a dated correction notice beneath the article. Right of reply, correction requests and complaints are submitted through the dedicated form (reference number and acknowledgement), in accordance with the law on freedom of the press. Published corrections are listed on the Corrections page.
Opinion and analysis
Op-eds and analysis are clearly identified as such and signed; they are the responsibility of their authors.
Artificial intelligence
The use of artificial intelligence tools is governed by public rules: see Use of AI.
